Geography

Curriculum Intent

In Geography, we aim to foster an enthusiasm in the students  for the world, cultures, conservation, and a range of physical and human elements to enable all to develop an empathy for the issues faced by people at a range of scales and consider strategies for managing the greatest challenges faced in the world today.

We aim to foster geographers that explore both the physical properties of Earth’s surface and the human societies spread across it. We examine how human culture interacts with the natural environment, and the way that locations and places can have an impact on people (adapted from National Geographic).

Through our core values of aspiration, respect and resilience we are devoted to removing barriers to learning and promoting the ‘common good’.
